We've been dabbing in the world of essential oils over the past year and have been loving the feeling of empowerment as we are able to implement natural healing in our own home. The following are some of our favorite ways to use the oils.
MAGIC SKIN SALVE
When Alice was about two months old, she was randomly and suddenly diagnosed with eczema. That freaked me out! I thought back to my childhood and my skin issues and all the crazy diet changes my pediatrician tried to convince my mum to do with me. I wasn't okay with that diagnosis. And I definitely wasn't okay with the possibility of introducing her to steroids. I went home and decided that I was going to heal her skin using oils. After some reading, I decided to blend coconut oil with a few drops of melaleuca (tea tree oil), frankincense, and lavender. I applied it to her face routinely and in about 4 days her skin was completely clear.
I then decided to also alter my diet (she was still nursing at the time) as I believe that the "eczema" was a topical manifestation of something wrong internally (i.e. I was eating something "wrong" for her little body). Alice's face hasn't had one flare-up since! And if she ever has a slight rash or dry skin anywhere, I rub a little of this magic salve on and not only does it smell amAAzing, but it heals her skin. Almost magically quick.
